Learn Optimization And Take Over The #1 Position

All business want to make money. It’s one of the reasons they business exists at all. The actual reason any business exists though it to provide a product or service to the public, or other businesses. Usually, a business wants to provide better quality than any other business.

Search engines are the same way. They want to provide search results to their users that are far better than any other engine. They know that if they offer the best results you will return time and again.

Since a search engine wants to provide you with good search results, they need some method of eliminating all the sites that are not worthy of your visit. This is why the algorithms were developed and why they are so important to any search engine.

The engines algorithms’ are geared towards what we call a scoring system. They say one thing is important and give your site a score for that. The same with what they think is unimportant, or bad even.

So when you go about optimizing your website what do you really do to make your site good enough to show up in the results? Do you try and trick the algorithm and use some black hat techniques?

If you want to get ranked well, and then stay there, you need to optimize your site well, get good inbound links pointing at you and then … and this is big … create the best content that can be.

The code and how it is used is important. Algorithms’ score your site by the proper use of HTML code. Always use code attributes where they belong, e.g., alt= and title= with good descriptions. Always provide a good title tag for every page and be sure to keep each one original and pertinent to the particular page it is on. Use heading tags and the H1 only once on a page.

The content is where you really get your message over to the engines. You need to have your keywords in your content, and to an extent, placed in the proper spots within that content. Consider that a site without the word “widgets” will never get ranked for the word widgets! Content is King and this fact will hold true forever, I can’t see this every changing.

The size of your site is of some importance as well. It should be obvious that you need enough pages to get your message across, and to cover all of the material that your market offers. Sites of less than 1 pages, in general, will not rank as well as larger sources of information do.

There is a lot to SEO. Over the years things have settled down quite a bit and today there is a basic set of standards that you need to meet in order to be optimized. These are all things that can be learned and then implemented by you, or your staff, for your website.

Optimization of websites is no longer unattainable by the average business owner. You can take a course, or have your staff take it, and learn exactly what changes are needed to get your site to rise in the rankings. It’s all a matter of being one step better than your competition. Learn how to do this, and you’ll be a successful online business.
