You might not think that you are a marketing and sales person, but if you own or work in a small business think again. When you’re in business for yourself – whether you like it or not, feel like you’re good at it or not – you are a marketing and sales person.
I tell my marketing clients and those that attend my various marketing presentations all the time that the two greatest assets you posses are your Attitude and Belief. When these are positive and show through your marketing and sales efforts, your results will increase dramatically.
Attitude: Enthusiasm and passion are two nouns that you have to take note of. These two factors would show your clients how valuable your product or service is. Show the public how your product could make a positive impact in their lives. Confidence can be built. Do not be discouraged if you are a shy person. Self-confidence is a skill.
Belief: Having a degree in marketing does not make you a marketing person. If you believe that you have the characteristics that makes a marketing man, they you do. This technique is called self-fulfilling prophecy. If you always tell yourself or think on your own that you are a good marketing person, you are probably one.
Apart from belief and attitude, you should also have the will and perseverance to succeed. If you could endure the ups and downs of the business, you are good to go. So, keep the optimistic view with you. Belief should always come within you. If you do not believe that you can actually succeed the business, the saddening scenario may follow. So, be miss or mister bright side.
