Using Embedded Videos Without Losing Visitors To YouTube

Do you know how to keep your visitors on your site, instead of clicking through to Youtube? You know what I’m talking about; you have an embedded Youtube video on your website. Either your own video or some quality content that you have found and want to distribute.

If a visitor clicks on that video it will start playing. That’s fine but if they click on it again, they go to Youtube and that’s where they end up. Keep reading to see how to stop them doing this.

You are able to stop this from happening. A major issue for internet marketers is when you embed a video on your website, either if that is your own or some quality information, either on your own blog, your opt-in site or lead capture page. It is not in your interests for visitors to click on that video and leave your site by going through to Youtube.

There would be a couple of good points to consider when this does happen. Your visitors will see your other videos and become more familiar with you that way and it would also increase the number of views that your Youtube videos are getting.

But if your aim is to retain your visitors on your page and keep them there for as long as you can, then how do you achieve this? Everyone knows about getting distracted. When you work from home, it’s an easy thing to do.

You get your visitor to look at a video on your website. Before you know it they have gone through to Youtube, watched a related upload, visited that other page and then your prospect has gone on to something else and might not come back. It’s probably nothing to do with your own video. It was a high quality video with good content. Being distracted by other Youtube videos, they went somewhere else.

So if you know that this happens, what do you do about it? I have always been told to not use Youtube to embed videos because of this happening. People use Youtube all the time. It is the most used video sharing site available. It is actually the second most used search site after Google being used the most.

To stop this from happening just alter the embed code. Just copy the Youtube embed code and put it either in to your site or into a text program first. It’s easy, you don’t need to know anything about HTML. It just means you need to change two little bits of the embed code.
